Masuki “Ballymore” (Original & Bradler & Dualton Remix) (RSTD019) - Realease date: 22.05.2009

Posted by admin

The next Restart release (RSTD019) comes from Masuki (FFM/ Germany), who made the amazing remix of Logiztik Sounds “The Light” (RSTD018).

“Ballymore” is an uncompromising Techno track of surpassing kind and quality. Masuki is a name you should keep in mind.

The Remix comes from Bradler & Dualton. The guys are on the roll at the moment and have released some strong tunes on labels like Flow Viny, Red Light District and Epsilon Trax over the past weeks. Their interpretation is a bit more laidback and more housy than the Original Mix.

Dualton just signed their first EP to Lawlers label VIVA music and Bradler has signed his next Original track to a Berlin based label.

Early support is coming from:

Deepchild (Dieb Audio), Erphun (Viva Music, Audio Therapy, Mutekki), Erwin Kelemen (Freies Radio Freudenstadt), Hernan Cattaneo (Renaissance), Josh Wink (Ovum Rec.), M.O.D.E. (Mode Rec.), Oleg Uris (Kiss FM Radio/ Ukraine), Orde Meikle (Slam) (Soma Rec.), Perc (Kompakt, Drumcode, CLR, Ovum), Pole Folder (Bedrock, LaTour Rec., Proton), Seneca (Audio Logic), Stefan Bauer (Progressive-World.at), TG /Tim Green (4:20, Renaissance, SciTec), The Scumfrog (Effin Rec.), Umek (1605 Rec.), 2 Guys On The Rock (Pulp Rec.), Aldrin (Zouk/ Singapore), Android Cartel (VIVA Music, Wolkenfunken), Berbesso (Cubic, Progress Rec.), Beta Blokka (Restart Rec., Silver Planet), Chris Fortier (Fade Rec.), Chris Source (Underworld, Vendetta, Sprout), Chris Walsh, Dibby Dougherty (Dynami, Baroque, GU), DJ Preach (Relic Rec.), Filip Wieser (Restart Rec.), Gomez, Hatzler (Mothership, Dieb Audio), Iguchi Satoshi, Jalebee Cartel (Maktub Music, Mashtronic Rec), Jason Owen (Polytechnic Rec., Danceradio.gr), Jay Lumen, Jeremiah (Ambig, Mashtronic, Flow, Baroque), Jim Ryan (Miss Moneypennys), Kassey Voorn (System Rec.), Kosmas Epsilon (Epsilon Trax, Deep Focus), Luke Porter (Balkan Connection, Epsilon Trax), Marjan Lopuh (Flow Management), Mark Knight (Toolroom Rec.), Nicolas van Orton (Balkan Connection), Niko Fantin (Restart Rec., Proton Rec.), Nils Nürnberg (Dieb Audio, 8Bit), Ogi Gee Cash (Balkan Connection, Proton), One of Them, Parham (Unfokused Music), Phil Rodriguez (Pulp Rec.), Presslaboys (Omar), Rob Salmon (Save Room, Chez Music, Yoshitoshi, Roy Brizman (Audiotherapy, Restart Rec.), Sandrino (SATelite) (Sprout Music), Snake Sedrick (Tilth Music, Mashtronic Rec.), Steve Parry (The Red Zone - Juice 107.6 FM), Stian Klo (Perc, Tsuba, Electronic Elements), Terje Bakke (ElectronicElements/Armada, Dumb), Terry Francis (Fabric), Thomas Sagstad (Black Hole, Mashtronic Rec.), Udaye Rana (Twisted Frequency Rec.), Wollion (BluFin, Yellow Tail, Medic Station)

Logiztik Sounds - Sasha remix contest winner on the rise

Posted by admin

Back in February 2008, Logiztik Sounds aka Uruguay-based producer Nicolas Silvano won our Sasha remix contest with an intricate and uplifting version of ‘Mongoose’.

Since then, Logiztik Sounds has been busy in the studio perfecting his craft, and he has managed to build himself a reputable profile in the progressive house sphere as defined by his recent run of releases on Little Mountain Recordings, Boz Boz, Proton Music and Vapour. He is also one of the only DJs to have had over 1000 listeners tune into his mix on Proton Radio.

Logiztik Sounds’ latest cut ‘The Light’ (Restart Rec. 018), which was produced alongside his Uruguay-based partner Audiobill, might finally see him reach a tipping point in terms of recognition.

What makes Logiztik Sounds music stand out is his ability to bridge the delicate melodies of yesteryears progressive house with the stripped back aesthetic of today’s modern dance music, without ever fully caving into white-noise breakdowns and driving electro-tech beats. It’s a bit of old and new at the same time.

Taking influence from the dark uplifting house that defined the early years of dance music this decade, the original of ‘The Light’ is the kind of deep hypnotic house that DJs like Anthony Papa and Nick Warren are known for playing. ‘Beyond’, a recent collaboration with Mauricio Duarte, and his recent poignant remix of Lank ‘Twinge’ further exemplify his commitment to the production values and style of progressive house. All are classy and mature productions.

It’s heartwarming to see that a former Beatport remix contest winner is moving on up.

Bradler & Dualton - Definitely EP (incl. Pig & Dan Remix) (Flow Vinyl) out now on Beatport!

Posted by admin

Press info:

Artist: Bradler & Dualton
Title: Definitely Ep
Format: digital
Catalog number: FV017
Release date: 17th March 2009
Distribution: Ingrooves
Style: techno/tech house
Tracks:
Definitely, Red Asian Bag, Red Asian Bag - Pig & Dan rmx

Mathias BRADLER (Duesseldorf/ Germany), Patrick Keuthen and Robert Glaser aka DUALTON (Cologne/ Germany) met in 2007 in a Club in Duesseldorf, where Dualton played as DJs. Mathias liked what he heard and contacted Patrick and Robert. After a short periode of time Mathias signed Dualton for his label Restart Rec. That was the kick-off of a very productive time and also the beginning of a great friendship between the guys.
Now Bradler & Dualton have released Original productions on famous labels like Bedrock, Rompecabeza, Twisted Frequency and Eisfach Schallplatten and have also signed tunes to Dieb Audio, Flow Vinyl, Epsilon Trax and Anthony Pappa`s rising label Red Light District, where Diebchild and Erphun remixed their track „Glow“.
They have also put out remixes on top labels like Global Underground, BluFin and Elite Rec. and have finished remixes for Ohral Rec., a brand new german label and Mathias`s Restart Rec., where they remixed Mario Zar`s massive tune „Dirty“.
Beside their co-laboration both acts have other projects running. Mathias Bradler is still working as a lawyer and gained the respect of the electronic music scene as one half of the massively successful production-duo Mashtronic and as owner and A&R of the labels Mashtronic Rec. and Restart Rec.. As a DJ he travelled the world and is still part of the legendary GU-World-Tour roster.
Dualton celebrated releases on labels like Save Room Rec., Force Sense and Restart Rec., only to name a few.

Definitely:
Dualton enter the tech house dubby world with a monotonic track filled with hypnotic percussive patterns and delays fx slowly building up into a stab melody in the break. A very smooth and dubby dj tool.

Red Asian Bag - Original
A bass evolving track where the bells hypnotic melody and the vocal sample just keep on playing along creating a mesmerizing deep effect.

Red Asian Bag - Pig & Dan Remix
Igor Tchkotoua and Dan Duncan are true workaholics. Not only are the two Mallorquinos forming one of the most exciting techno duos of our time and play in the most famous clubs worldwide, they always make it to pop up in the studio to work on their releases on Sonic Society, Wig Records or like in the case of „Deliverance”, the new 12″ on Cocoon and deliver one more proof of their competence. Here, they manipulate the original creating a techno tech house crossover bomb, with a fat driving bassline, super percussive and hypnotic rhythmical patterns, building up to  a beautifull piano melody by the break,  and kicking again to the percussive driving rhythmn. Destined to be HUGE.

Bradler & Dualton “Glow” reviewed by Progressive-Sounds.com (8/10)

Posted by admin

Bradler & Dualton ”Glow”
Out Now on Red Light District

Mathias Bradler of Mashtronic teams up with Cologne duo Dualton for Red Light District´s forth release with two totally different remixes by Deepchild and Erphun. ‘Glow´ is a hypnotic and chuggy builder track with a touch of melody that has been finding its way in the boxes of John Digweed, Jim Rivers and many more.

‘Glow´ is a wonderful slice of music. I´m not sure if it´s more techno than tech house or more progressive than either. It´s a real mixed bag of sounds that seem to work perfectly on the floor. There´s acidy bits hiding in the background and a melodic hook that builds in arrangement as the drums hit hard, punching in all the right places. The bass is fat and rumbles my speakers and when the drop happens, it´s all pretty devastating. The break lasts for ages and builds slowly creating a solid environment for any creative DJ to go nuts. The beats and bass cut in again and the sounds build forever more. A killer track.

Australian producer Deepchild has a huge discography with releases out on Freerange, Ministry of Sound, and Om Records to name a few. In a short amount of time, he´s developed his own funky, tech house grooves and injects ‘Glow´ with a healthy dose of acidy bits, cut up samples, voices and drums with thick ass crunch that makes me want to get down. What a fantastic and weirdly cool remix that should appeal to the Dirtybird posse.

Los Angeles´ Erphun has been carving a niche recently with his rumbly textured techno. His music has been showing up in Dubfire and Digweed sets and he´s finally getting the attention he deserves. Erphun strips ‘Glow´ of most of its melodies and lays down the mental elements tenfold. The drums are strangely syncopated and the bassline stutters, creating a weird but infectious groove. The acid is gone and the only elements left are the airy bits with a pulsing rhythm. This is one for the heavy floors.

Speakers beware! This is a truly strong release with three completely different interpretations of ‘Glow´. Bradler and Dualton make a great team in the studio and I hope they continue on this path.

Jim Rivers “Global Underground: Nubreed 7″ (ft. Bradler & Dualton “Glow” (Erphun Remix)) reviewed by Progressive-Sounds.com 9/10

Posted by admin

jim-rivers-global-underground-nubreed-007

Forthcoming on Global Underground | 3/30/2009

It´s been close to seven years since Global Underground last released a Nubreed compilation. For those of us that were fans of that series (and there were many of us), we believed the end of the line had come with Satoshi Tomiie´s instalment. Created as a platform to showcase the talents of DJs on the cusp of super stardom, the time between 2002 and now would seem to have been barren of such talents… until now. GU rekindles the much missed Nubreed series with none other then UK´s Jim Rivers. For those unfamiliar with his work, Nubreed 007 is set to catapult this unique DJ and producer who has that ´it´ factor which is a rarity in this industry.

Opening the first part of Nubreed 007 is Joash´s “Bubblegum Strings” where melodic riffs intertwine with subtle string samples to form a bouncy and memorable opening track. An ethereal touch comes into play with Mike Monday´s ´Stargirl´, a track that continues the delicate nature of the previous tune but this time draws in a slightly heavy pads as violin samples add an emotional feel.

Up next is the Dave DK ´Magic´ Mix of “The Miracle” by Florian Kruse which picks up the tempo of the mix and introduces a gentle house groove into the mix. Moving on quite quickly and onto “Packing My Bags” by Burnski which further establishes that house groove and brings in flourishes of washed synths to add a new layer to the sound.

Following on is Ilija Rudman´s “Ocean Colour”, a more austere tune that dips in feel before climbing back up and turning into a beat laden tune which increased the tempo slightly again and introduces Didier Sinclair´s “Devotion” perfectly. This is a real dance floor number with its warm melody, string samples but driving beat allowing it to work so well.

That warmth is replaced with a tougher sound in Will Saul and Tam Cooper´s ‘Through The Smoke” but still keeps the tempo at the same level. The engaging see-saw melody combined with the constant underlying synths makes this a noteworthy track. Gliding perfectly into the mix is the stunning Stimming Mix of “Tessio” by Luomo. I love seeing a good vocal track used properly and here Jim Rivers has used it so perfectly that it stands out so majestically that, for me, it´s quite an emotional point within this part of the mix. The combination of the beautiful vocals and the sporadic strings are haunting. Simply brilliant.

What better way to follow on from the Luomo tune is none other then with a Jim Rivers production. “By Any Means” shifts gears upwardly through its galloping groove overlaid with a bopping melody. It´s a warm tune that literally washes over you. Continuing things on the up-tempo vibe is the Ben Watt ´Buzzin Fly´ Edit of “Streethorn” by The Viewers, a tune that´s quite halting in sound and adds to the tension of the mix so far. It gradually builds and builds only to explode into Scope´s 2009 version of his eponymous “Strung Out”. I can´t help losing myself in those ever familiar strings. This is a classic dance music track but updated with a tougher sound.

Heading towards a subdued path is “Zavoie” by Lemon Popsicle which still keeps things on a melodic path but is only used as a bridging track to introduce 2´s Company´s “Drop Bass Kick”. This particular track sounds very much like its title because it does virtually drop a bass before kicking back into a melodic shift, bumping and grinding perfectly into the gorgeous Ripperton Mix of Beanfields´ “Tides”, featuring the unforgettable soulful voice of Bajka.

The inclusion of the Rainer Weichhold Mix of “Push Push” by Rockers Hi-Fi was, at first, a strange addition for me on this mix because of its obvious popularity. However, its soaring chords and heavy groove fits easily in the overall sound of this part of the mix. Next up is another production from Jim Rivers with “Forget About It”. This is all about the deep and dubby bass sounds that drive the track and the shimmering synths and vocals snippets that virtually hover over the tune.

As this part of the mix nears the end, “The Tree Dance” by Tom Budden comes into play with a right proper bounce. What a tune! Quite deep in texture but it´s that bounce like beat that spurs this tune on. You can´t help but move along with it and for that it´s quite the highlight. Completing this part of the Nubreed 007 journey is “Vibrant” by Jim Rivers again which takes the feel of the mix down a notch but only slightly before it soars and explodes into melodic synths and a dubby beat driven vibe before gently dropping away. An apt way to end this part of the mix.

Leading us into the second disk of Nubreed 007 is the King Unique Mix of Unkle´s “Heaven” which rolls in quite gently before the groove picks up in tempo and carries the track on an even keel through out its duration. Following on as a transition is Kabuto and Koji´s “Drunken Slumber” which easily introduces the next tune. “Space Soon To Vanish” by DJ Yellow Presents Mindz Kontrol Ultra. There´s such an intensity in its beats while the horn like synth that grows and drops at varying points adds to that feel.

Nobuo Ittetsu´s “Flow” follows on naturally and continues that intensity before bridging onto a minute section of Aril Brikha´s “Deeparture In Time” and then flourishing into “Moviemaker” by 16 Bit Lolitas Presents Glowfield. This particular tune takes the mix into a deeper sound with subtle techy effects in the background and a gallop in its beat as it maintains the tempo.

Plasmik Honey´s “Da Jungle” is spliced into the mix so as to introduces Itamar Sagi´s “One Million Oaks” which adds some really bass heavy pads into the mix as the pace takes an upwards shiftl. There´s such a deep, hypnotic melody here as a main focus and as such, we´re starting to see change into progressive territory. A real highlight of this part of the mix and a tune I´d love to hear played in a club.

With Christopher Manik´s gorgeous “Take It Back” the use of those heavy sounding pads continues before the mix swings into the high hats of the Erphun Mix of Bradler and Dualton´s “Glow” and what a tune this is! The main focus here is a real nod towards a techno sound, underpinned by progessive overtones, a sound also emulated by Nick Muir´s “100´s & 1000´s”. This track has such a deep bass heavy vibe that hovers in the background while washed melodic synths and bleepy effects play in the foreground. This is immense and intense at the same time!

Bringing the feel back down slightly is Guy J´s “Lamur”, which brings with it an almost angelic change in melody and feel before moving onto the deep grooves of Claes Rosén´s “Captivating” which is exactly that. While the last two tracks were almost a breather, “Pesticide” by Clinton Brown and Miltos picks things up again with its rolling beats and warbling synths. Another Jim Rivers production, “Stone” virtually scurries in and adds another intense element to the mix with its volumising main melody.

The wonky bass of the James Holden Mix of Andre Kraml´s “Safari” melts into the previous track before the majestic “Rubicon” by Avilo has already started. The warm but spliced synths and bleeps seem to cascade off the pads as they become the prominent force of the track. Crazy stuff! The idea of warm pads continue with the upcoming Fiord Mix of “Karma” by Tarrentella and while I thought things would start to settle down, the rolling beats swing the rhythm in an upward direction and continue on with Paul Woolford´s “Heirbas” which doesn´t let go of that relentlessness until the last chords of the track. What a finish!

This compilation is just stunning! Its blend of deep house grooves, gorgeous melodies, bits of progressive hypnotics and dance floor orientated beats all come together to create a compilation that sees a fitting return of the Nubreed series for GU. Technically speaking, the transitions here are so seamless in many places that they glide from one track to the next with effortless ease, so much so, the you will find yourself picking up on something new on each subsequent listen of the compilation. All I can say is ´wow´!

To be frank, while I´m already a fan of his previous work, even I didn´t expect this to be of the quality that it is with the end result surpassing any and all of my expectations and then some. What this young artist has created is a release for Global Underground that will not only be one of the major standouts for 2009 but also herald a new era for the label. Nubreed 007 is a definitive showcase of the talent that is Jim Rivers, one that will undoubtedly become a much more prominent force in the industry in the coming years whose musical ability will continue to mature and develop. A ´must get´ for anyone and everyone.
